Harivenasa participates in ALINFA (Healthy, Accessible and Affordable Food for Children), a strategic R&D project funded by the Government of Navarra. Its main objective is to generate knowledge, tools and solutions to improve access to healthy food for children aged from 3 to 12 years old, through both meals in school canteens and meals at home. The projects is taking place between the 1st July 2019 and 30th November 2021 and includes the participation of research organizations such as the Public University of Navarra, the University of Navarra and the National Center for Food Technology and Safety (CNTA), the catering company Irigoyen and other food producing companies such as Ian Group, Sanygran and Apex
In particular, Harivenasa‘s role in the project focuses on the development of healthy meals which incorporate oatmeal as an important ingredient for consumption in school canteens. In addition, Harivenasa collaborates in strategies to reduce sugar consumption by developing healthy oat toppings to be consumed along with dairy desserts.
